Buy the Book! :0)

I’m sitting at the breakfast bar/lunch/dinner table, (yes one table serves all in our house) and looking outside longingly. I’d love to go for a walk, but I can’t, because it’s raining cats and DOGS!
Which brings me back to my book. I am terrible at promoting myself, really bad. I love writing, and I’m about embark on another writing project. An amusing insight on retiring to Italy at the ripe old age of 63. There should be a few laughs to say the least. In the meantime, go to Amazon and buy my book. Princess Tess and her Mess is a story for all ages. It is an amusing tale about an old girl (me) taking care of a young pup, something I’d never done before. Everyone who bought my little story enjoyed reading it.
No crime, no violence, no suspense, just family, love and animals…what could make you feel better. Pull out your credit card and click on one of the links below.

Best Selling Author?

No! I’ll never be a best selling author.
Would I like to be?
Yes, but I write for pleasure, its my hobby.

I’ve written for therapy since I was a teenager, and it works, I’m still sane.
I self publish and promote my books as best as I can, but my sales never amount to enough to make a profit. If I make enough money to break even with the editing/book lay out fees, I’m happy.

Princess Tess and Her mess has been one of my favorite books to write. It didn’t wrestle with any inner daemons, it was just a book about a funny, curious pup. I’m working on a sequel. Will I finish it? Who knows?

I’m retired now and living in Italy, life is more relaxing, but I have a lot of exploring to do before I get too old. I also have a pretty busy social life for an old girl. Hopefully in between all of that I can find time to write.

If you have a couple of spare dollars, invest in my book, make me feel famous. It’s a fun story you can read to your children and grandkids, or if you’re an animal lover, read it yourself.

You can click on the link below, or on the book cover at the side of my blog.

Take care and stay safe.

Kids and Animals

After over a year of writing and editing, and rewriting and doubts, my book is finally published.

I began writing “Princess Tess and Her Mess” before the world knew about covid. I think my writing became more urgent as the pandemic took control of our lives. I started writing in February 2020, while still living in Colorado, and finished writing in March 2021, after moving to Italy.

The last year of my life has certainly been full of adventure! Princess Tess is a Children’s story, but my editor enjoyed it too, so I think it’s a story for all ages, especially if you’re an animal lover.

If you feel inclined to support an old “budding” writer, I’ve included links to my Amazon eBook and paperback. If you enjoy my amusing little tale, please give me a review. If you’re not a reader and just follow this old girl for fun, thanks for stopping by, and send me some positive thoughts. Stay safe everyone.

Children’s Book – Tess Mess

Here she is! This little scoundrel inspired me to write my first Children’s Book. Finally it’s finished, edited, illustrated and ready to sell.

Now I’m terrified.

This was fun to write, and the idea of making kids happy with this story thrilled me…now comes the test. Will anyone want to read it?

Watch out for for Princess Tess and her Mess on Amazon in the “Children’s Book” category. It will magically appear before the end of June.

Below is a little bit about silly old me!

Sandra Thompson

Sandra was born a very long time ago in the North East of England. She was outgoing and adventurous child with an overactive imagination. From a very early age her brain silently recorded the story of her life as it happened. At the age of thirteen Sandra realized she needed to write that story down. She’s been writing ever since. This is her first children’s book, but I know it won’t be her last.

Sandra is retired now and living in Italy, but still writing.

Queen Tess – The Story Evolves

This is my first children’s story. Inspired by Tess, a cute pup that belongs to my daughter and son in law. I looked after her for three weeks back in January 2020, before the world was turned upside down. It was an experience for me, never having taken care of a dog before. She won my heart and I found myself leaving work as early as possible because I worried about her.
COVID/Trump/2020 sucked me dry. I had no imagination left. What spare time I had was spent getting my US house ready to sell. My heart ached because, although I really wanted to move to Italy, I was sad to leave my daughter and her pups behind. I was sad because I would be leaving my job and all of my friends, but it was time.
Now I’m writing again and as I re-read Queen Tess – A short Shaggy Dog Tale, I realize I wasn’t capturing her character. She was a baby when she stayed with me. I had portrayed her as a much older dog. Now, as I re-write the story, I’m making her childlike, which of course she is. The re-write is fun. I laugh out loud sometimes as I remember the things she did.
When my book is finished, what next? Who knows, maybe back to thrillers, or perhaps a travel story.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’ll visit again! Stay safe.

Queen Tess on Vacation

I decided to amuse myself and write a children’s book while taking care of Queen Tess…lets see how it goes.

A Shaggy Dog Tale

Tess is a champagne colored bundle of fun. She’s a little chubby (puppy fat), and very young. Tess uses her big dark puppy dog eyes to her best advantage, and they are almost impossible to resist, even if you’re not a dog person. She lives with Fendi, Jo and Christian. Fendi is a pensioner in dog years, very smart, but a little grumpy and doesn’t have much patience with young Tess. Jo and Christian work very hard and every so often need a vacation. They love their pups dearly, too much to leave them with strangers, so when they decided to go on a Ski trip to Japan (who knew you could ski in Japan?). Tess, and Fendi got a vacation of their own. Fendi went to Steamboat Springs to stay with Christian’s parents, and Tess went to stay in Franktown with Jo’s mum, also known by both dogs as “The Treat Lady”.
